 Give me the Details:

Please share as many details about your day as you can.   The colors of the dresses, the style of your dress and the style of the bridesmaids dresses.   The style of wedding you are going for. i.e vintage, chic, elegant or casual.   The details of your dress that you like and want to emphasize.  If you have photos of  your venue or church site share them…I like to look at your pictures too!  Please share any pictures that you have collected of flowers, centerpieces and decor.

Add POP to your flowers:

Sure we can give you roses, but what about mixing in the unexpected.  Let’s use fruit, feathers or your mom’s broach. Different elements mixed in with your flowers can give your guest something to talk about.  We can even mix up designs for your bridesmaids bouquets or your centerpieces.

Ask me about scents:

The fragrances in your bouquets is great if no one has allergies.  No need to use fragrant flowers on your tables, it may interfere with the flavors of the meal.

Ask me how we can maximize the budget:

I love working with brides and their budgets.  I can suggest in season floral that are in the colors that you desire that will fit into the budget.  Don’t be afraid to share your figure, this is how we can work together to give you the wedding you desire at your complimentary consulatations.

Ten Needs for Floral and Decor Consultations

  • Posted on June 1, 2009 at 11:23 pm
  1. wl1. Know your floral and decor budget, including if you need linens or chair covers as Expressions of Décor can provide these for you at a very reasonable price.
  2. 2.Know your vision of your event, if you have a theme state it and we can explore all possibilities. A good place to get color ideas is the paint section.
  3.  Bring a picture of your dress which shows the color and style.
  4. Know the number of bridesmaids and a picture of their dress and style and any fabric swatches.
  5.  A list of male and females that will need corsages and boutonnieres i.e. mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, special aunts, and step parents. It is a good idea to check with mothers to see if they even want a flower and if so what type. i.e. a pinned corsage, a wrist corsage or very small bouquet (mother’s clutch).
  6.  The location of the ceremony and reception. Pictures are helpful, if we have yet to see your site, but don’t worry if we have not we will go see it with you free of charge once our services are booked.
  7.  Any décor or floral restrictions that your ceremony or reception locations have in place i.e. no fresh petals on floors or no real candles in museum…
  8. Will there be a sit down or buffet dinner, we may need to provide floral for the buffet table if the cater does not. Also it is helpful if you know how many guests can fit at a table comfortably, this will help in knowing how many centerpieces you are needing.
  9.  The style of floral you like and don’t like, this is the fun part…Bring in all your magazines, your pictures and even your laptop what ever you have your pictures on so that we can go through them and discuss. This allows for us to customize the wedding to you and your fiancé desires and budget.
  10.  Know if you want delivery, set-up and breakdown. A lot of times these services are included in floral and décor packages.
